Rain every few days has made it comfortable in Merritt. The fires are close but distant enough so far with the one in Spence’s Bridge the most relevant. A suppression crew was at a local restaurant this weekend wearing black and  bearing markings “British Columbia  Wildfire service”. Alarm for a wildfire west of here near Spence’s Bridge was muted somewhat today as we enjoy ed high ceilings and no smoke. The wild fire had generated evacuations to about 80 rural properties and became a Fire of note. There are more then 220 fires burning at this time in BC, only one of ” note ” at this writing. Many are ” out of control” which means not being controlled, we believe that uncontrolled means a fighting strategie that apologies many factors in forest practices. Stay safe listen to those responsible, live Well, carry on. Make sure your insurance is up to date.

The Merritt public library was a welcome resource today. We picked up a National Geographic guide to national parks. What a great country with many assets to please and relieve.

The Caravan included some large industrial truck with numbers of students on long trailers. One was from the ” Rock Solid Contracting Company, that entry is a company involved in the bridge replacement for the 2021 washout on the Coldwater river. Another long bedded truck carried students who were heard to utter sailor language, we presume was to support recent fish farm Canadiana Jargon broadcast by Canadian Super star of the universe Bill Shatner ( Captain Kirk United Space Federation) from the phenomenal series Star Trek. The crowd and the subjects presented a resilient, life claiming spirit. A student told us when asked that his beautiful Tux he rented was costly but presumed a worthy price to pay causing us to think cost is considered in vital life claiming actions as good and cheap is not so much of a value. Respect for challenge was in the air and not to be intimidated in any form.

Two useful brochures produced by the city of Kamloops and others provided useful information presented by the citizen sciences science monitoring guide, Common bees of South interior of BC. The common ladybug also came off as a hero in the pollination process as when gardeners use its natural ability to control pests instead of pesticides it is very effective.
