Some of the locals like to show support for those that suffer misfortune. the Grand a local pub and restaurant has steak fundraisers when money is needed for local popular causes.
A fund-raiser for a local women Sam Latremouille is on for the 25th of June at the Grand starting at 5PM.A jam session of a music group is also scheduled.It goes for $15.00.
Sam is a single mom and she will have a 7 week recovery period after the removal of her kidney to cancer.

HI Kevin! Nice to meet someone who supports all our efforts. Kevin and I met in Starbucks this morning as I made a pit stop before finding my cyclist. My name is Camille and I’m on the Sag Wagon following the EFI Bike Challenge to fund raise for MS. My good friend John Desborough is cycling from Vancouver to Halifax in 40 days (because that’s all the vacation time he has!), and we’ve sure enjoyed staying in Merritt, such friendly, helpful folks.
