“North Americas richest wild card rodeo”, finished Sunday with events canceled Monday due to cash crunch, all the people I talked to liked the event as they had good horses and bulls. No one seemed disappointed although attendance deemed low, for the singing stars..
I went to one of the three exchange s to the freeway Monday and counted 35 vehicles a minute or 2100 an hour, that’s a lot of cars going by. Maybe advertising was in-house and local posters. Comments from a person that helped supply horses from North Dakota ( horses from Lac la Biche Alberta) said the event should have been a jackpot event on the last day meaning the profits go to last day prizes.
Today in history May 26 1805:
Napoleon Boneparte becomes King of Italy , in Milan.

Heres one for conjecture, it fits the debate about the HST at this time: one local paper is reporting a shortfall of $20,000.00 for the Rodeo. Thats just the amount that brought former BC Premier Bill Vanderzalm down as a cash payment to a realtor lots of years ago.
The former Premier is being succesfull in an anti consumption tax petition now, which includes a value added tax on Real Estate. The Rodeo was organized by the Nicola Valley Tribal Association an entity controlled by the Federal Government, who wants the Federal Tax (HST ) in British Columbia, subtle tatteling is a form of politcal smear. Which is unfortunate as they have all the cards with a HST Regulation coming out of the 19 year old Federal Goods and Service Tax, Something that came about in part from the demise of the GATT or General Aggreement on Tariff and Trade. Its hier the Free Trade Agreements of the last 20 years have taken that slack and reguire non tarrif barriers deminished.
A person could fall to many conclutions I guess thats why journalism is about facts….
And politics is dirty.
