Karen Blain the Kamloops coördinator of the NITEP program that’s the program that since 1974 has assisted nearly 400 first nation teachers to get degrees through the University of British Columbia and its affiliates. They are intending a joint field office here in September 2013 . She says that the degree program has reduced credits required by the BC College of Teachers standards to 151 credits from 174.
