September 12th through 14th

Particles may increase

The American national oceans and atmosphere bunch in the United States are calling for a magnetic storm 12th September through 14th. Should give some skyscapes weather permitting in your area.

Viewing and Watching for Magnetic Storms on September 12th-14th
Unfortunately, you cannot directly “view” a magnetic storm. They are invisible to the naked eye and are primarily detected by scientific instruments. However, you can stay informed about their occurrence and potential impacts through various channels:
1. Solar Weather Prediction Sites:
* Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC): This is the official US government source for space weather forecasts and alerts. They provide detailed information about expected solar activity and potential geomagnetic storms.
* Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO): This NASA spacecraft provides real-time images of the Sun, allowing you to see solar flares and other events that can lead to magnetic storms.
2. News Outlets:
* Science and Technology News Websites: Many news outlets, especially those focusing on science and technology, will report on significant solar events and their potential impacts.
* Local News: If a magnetic storm is expected to have a significant impact on your region (e.g., affecting power grids or satellite communications), local news outlets will likely provide updates.
3. Social Media:
* NASA and Space Weather Experts: Follow organizations like NASA, NOAA, and space weather experts on social media for timely updates and information.
Remember: Magnetic storms can affect technology and infrastructure, so it’s always a good idea to be prepared. This might include having a backup power source or knowing your local emergency plans.
Would you like to know more about the potential impacts of magnetic storms or how to prepare for them?
