Is man always at odds with the natural world? Can he ever be in sync and harmony with it? Is the garden of Eden a myth?
The word Eden means an untended area to Mesopotamia culture. The Garden could very easily be a last refuge of the hunter-gatherers style of human existence. As the retreating ice age caused many rivers to flow into the area known as the fertile crescent people adapted to agriculture and the ability to be in one place rather than a wandering existence.
Crop
The tilling of land brought monoculture to production and production brought storage of food. Then needing protection brought defended accommodation and cities. A Nature at its best and deadliest has always provided wild culture. Whether it be in flora or fauna it’s what gives life tenacity.
The Natural order drifted back and forth from power Dynamics + to a new sense of intelligence including poetry + abstract thinking as demonstrated in archaeological remains. In many places the old world was driven by reward of adaptation and an increased prosperity of man.
Still is
Still is and the onward tension of man s dominance. In taking nature to Dewilding reinforced the image of being cast out of the garden and into the curse of the sweat of the brow with struggling in monoculture to fill their granaries.
Important election,
British Columbia is having a very important election at this time . It’s important that you know what their positions are as well, before you vote.
Prologue
The earth cannot completely be a monoculture nor can it be a garden somewhere, there’s a balance. Let’s hope we make the right decisions in the next while.
