TGIF- Stat Holiday Tuesday

File Photo KDG

British Columbia has another statutory holiday on Tuesday January 1st 2018. New Years eve is on Monday and remember to make plans to get home safe if there is an office party after work… Spend some quality time with the young and old Tuesday to start the year off with maybe a conversation on the state of animals and marine life in a postive way.

Watch for the ball to drop in times square on a great upcoming year. Peace and understanding we believe will be rich and fulfilling in 2018.

The price of regular gasoline took a big drop in price this week going down 10cents a liter.  However it gained another cent today in time for the start of the holiday shopping season.  All seven outlets in our South Central BC city of 8,000 are at the same price at this writing, leaving a net drop for the consumer of 11 cents to start the holiday shopping season.

Snow Monster

Many places in BC and Alberta have upper levels that require a lot of snow removal.                        File Photo KDG

Winter 1988

Calgary hosted the winter Olympics in 1988. The volunteer structure game the city an advantage and produced a successful and relaxed games.  The games included the making of good amateur inclusion, with names like Eddy the Eagle and the Jamaican Bob sled team.

Big bang for the bucks:

The people of Calgary are an advantage to the games as budgets elsewhere have been larger then  the amateur status calls for. Calgary is not cheap but a responsible games can be done in many view. The infrastructure from 1988 remains and is upgradeable, a number of people involved back in 1988 are still available. What remains is, is it wanted.

SNOW ON ROOF

When it comes it can be something to manage file photo KDG

There’s no business like snow business .

Calgary is a good place for snow as are other places most venues also make snow  however the something that is a good backup in this day of warming concerns, We see Calgary as progressive and competent and up to challenge, most people you would ask would see them as that.

Opinion

Today there is a vote to see if it is worth continuing toward a bid. The Mayor of Calgary says he is looking forward to seeing what the people of Calgary have to say. Good luck, young people are our future… 2026 games Search
