This week is small business week in BC.
The Battle of Trafalgar.
The local Merritt and District Chamber of Commerce has moved from its city hall location to a building in the core of Merritt’s 2100 block. The group had shared the front of the Merritt city hall with Community Future’s and the transit group. The move sees transit moving to the back of city hall under the upstairs city offices with their one office.
The block has the offices of Q 101 radio as well as, an optometrist, a bakery and a department of highways admin office. The 2181 Quilchena avenue location is open for people to drop in to say hi.
The Chamber remains under the stairs off the main foyer at City Hall, 2185 Voght. Books are at the Quilchena location.
The old location is empty and displaying a building permit for renovation.
Eighteen year old Meredith Hunter is stabbed to death at a free Rolling Stones concert.
Max a Fressian Stalion is handled by owner Dr. Paul Molnar, on horse Stephanie travers a farrier and painter of fauna.
Local farrier and painter, is shoeing at the Brambles Bakery downtown in Merritt.
The local artisan has a style that brings a greatness of dignity to the creatures she puts on canvas. Stephanie Travers will be on hand at 6PM at the Brambles Bakery at 2151 Quilchena Avenue. On January 10th 2018.
So excited for this new show, opening night Wednesday January 10th at 6pm, but the show runs all month and I’d be delighted to meet you at the Secret Door Gallery any other day for a guided tour and coffee! Ok…back to painting! source ST.

There is another art show at the Brambles Bakery here in Merritt starting on Friday May 12th with a 7PM reception.
The secret door group has monthly shows this one runs to mid June and features horses.
