Valentine’s Day approach us, only believe

The downtown tourist information center in Merritt, BC has displays set up regularly. This one from January 7th, 2026, may just be a precursor for the next holiday or observance. It’s not generally a holiday. But you know I’m talking about Valentine’s Day.

The Merritt Centennials played to 725 fans in the Nicola valley memorial arena in Merritt tonight.

The team scored twice to the visiting Wiliams Lake team’s 4 recorded goals.

The winter solstice or the shortest day of the year. December 21st brings with it the shortest day as far as daylight hours are concerned. Colder weather will has come as the tilt of the Earth tipped to standing about 23° to the east of the poles north and south.

The gradual warm up to spring will match slowly to the spring equinox, when day and night are briefly equal.

The Merritt Centennials met the Princeton Posse in action at the Nicola valley memorial arena in Merritt this evening. The final score was home 2 and guest five. That would be Princeton over Merritt in Merritt.
