This pickup owed by a family business in Princeton and used to transport crews and equipment to mineral exploration sites where continuous core samples are produced , layed out in boxes that read like a book. The samples then can be split, logged, and assayed for mineral content. According to the mining association 95 percent of the province is explored, and when talking to a man from the UK about it he says that leaves 5%; to us that’s huge. Copper mines in South America that had lower labor costs and shipping concerns dampened the industry for more than a decade, here however, in BC, the industry is enjoying a bit of a come back. The industry at its zenith employed about 30,000 people in good high paying jobs. That was about the size of the civil service and they purchased a lot of expensive supplies. Safety standards where high and corporate involvement in the community mirrored democratic ideals.

Arrest, part of a normal day for the thin blue line, this recent arrest in downtown Merritt shows an officer taking into custody a suspect, he can on reasonable suspicion detain a person for 24 hours. That person can have a lawyer present for questioning, and ask for a writ to produce him in court with charges against him . Special laws after 911 undermined that civil right with out suspending all civil rights for citizens.
