The local college is having a health week. Events all week for awareness of personal health concerns.Including bowling pep talks home work outs and ending it is a film on friday Laughter is the best medicine.

All week if you use a ball instead of a chair you can get a prize.

NVIT is an aboriginal centered school that offers university transfer and technical training . A high percentage of the students are First Nations.

There is lots of talk about the line up of stars for the Merritt Mountain Music Festival.There is a considerable network of festival /gala supporters here and based on the possibilities of ticket sales it may well occur again. However good will have to prevail as this is not Los Vegas  or Holly Wood and the one and a half million paid to  the last headliner more alienates than draws fans to the event.

Lots of luck for the branding of Merritt and the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.

I spoke to a Tara Hildebrand of the AS of  B.C.  she was doing educational sessions for those effected at the Merritt Civic center about 10 people were at a table getting support for a very private and challenging situation ; a member of your family that has Alzheimer disease. She without a moment’s hesitation affirmed that lock down care homes the kind that post an electronic password on the exit doors are safe and the a good choice. A person wandered away from a home in Kamloops one winter and died of exposure.

She was aware also of a card that the federal association issues with a picture of the person suffering on it to present to people when looking for a wandering person.

I our view there can not be enough community support for those that are under this  affliction.

There is a kind of excitement about it with people as it goes against predictions of dire through global warming. The comfort of more normal weather seems to give  a balance to the inconvenience it may cause to some. They are also talking about snow falls through Sunday , making the saying in like a lion out like a lamb for the month of March an interesting thing to watch. We know that the concern over global warming is the worldwide average mean temperature and that science should not be trivialized. The earth gives a balance that often corrects itself and for those of us that can adjust in the interim a life force not completely understood as yet.

The river is open earlier this year and remains open.
