TGIF-Live like Ty

Rodeo weekend in Merritt
File Photo KDG

The local rodeo is on this weekend, Labour Day. There are a few back widow signs saying in essence “live like the 25 year old star Ty Pozzobon. Ty died last year from issues coming from head injuries according to accounts.

The family of a 25-year-old Canadian bull riding champion, who died suddenly Monday, is warning about the dangers of concussions in the wake of his death. … Close friends and Canadians in the rodeo and bull-riding community are mourning the loss of the young bull rider.

Accounts also say he took his own life, something that should never be considered as good advise.

The truth is yes you may take risks to enhance your life . The law says not recklessly. This goes beyond most of us that may consider roller coaster rides as risk. The reality is many jobs and situations may cause additional risk for gain or to prevent loss and so long as reasonable efforts are made it is legal to take those risks.

We all lost something with the untimely loss of Ty Pozzabon last January. However it is complicated to enjoy life so yes live like Ty is a view to be balance, some it to be outright rejected.

You be the judge in your trade offs but never take that non reversible (taking your own life) step to preserve a persona at the cost of never making a personal decision again.

The gasoline price is at $1.10.9 cents a liter today a day before the long week end starts. The price represents a stable driving season and a management attitude by consumers. The absence of the McMurray fire this year may have  something to do with it and the Shell Station off Belshaw Avenue has not gone without supply as yet this season as was the case last season. At this writing a fuel truck is delivering there for the weekend.

The drought sign has gone up from normal meaning conditions are dryer act accordingly.

Gas buddy says that all  Merritt gas stations are on price. The average price is $1.22.3 and the lowest is 94.9 in BC. Trending up…

Peace and prosperity,

Long time legion member in the spirit
File Photo KDG

The dividend of civilization is civility, something that if guarded can dominate in away different from the total domination of armies and cultures. A culture of peace is a desirable thing to those that know its value. It still has to come from the individual integrity of citizens and virtue truly is its own reward. In the week coming up to Canada’s 150th look inside and see if you have inner peace. A peace based on” to your own self be true”, and mitigated by “treat your neighbour as you would your self.” Let fashion have its temporary place not dependant on your happiness and show your true strength first to your self then to others. It will be a good day to let thing’s go that are troubling and not worth the energy of regret.

You will be standing on guard for all of us thee…

Editors Note: There is no utopia, sometimes the first loss is the best loss, you be the judge.
