Blind is a progression.

There was a scale card at the local library for White cane week that had 6 eye conditions simulated through lens. What was surprising to me was blind is not like when you close your eyes it is a soupy white. One condition is like looking through  bridal lace, and macular degeneration just fuzz’s the letters some, on a card.

A number of people suffered some sort of blindness including the retired radio personality Al Clark. Al had  a marvelous  voice on the local Q101 giving no inclination of any disability, however he was not able to secure a driving licence and was years ahead of bicycle and helmet usage.

Editors note: The channel 888 here is looking for 1000 sight challanged people for a consultation group to recommend services for the  blind. the channel narrates programs for people to enjoy that would have to guess at visuals in shows. They are also applying to renew their licence with the CRTC.

Check them out at AMI.ca

The Accessible Channel or AMI  promotes media access for 6.6 million Canadians who are blind, deaf,,vision impaired or hard at hearing. It was launched in 2008, and goes by TAC for short.

Out of province, country, medical ; we have a reminder from a source that ambulance is not covered in other provinces  by the medical services plan.  When traveling always be sure of coverage as treatment may not be forth coming without payment arrangements.

Plans like Blue Cross in Alberta can give you security from ambulance bills of thousands of dollars. You may have something from your employer in the form of extended health.

This is not a solicitation ,it is a newsworthy item.
