The local Merritt Naturalists are having their annual bird count and identification of species this coming Saturday.

Data collected is shared for such things as global warming and conservation.

The weekend saw another snowfall followed by overnight lows in minus double digits. These mallards responded to a call for bread, in recent weeks they had turned their bills up at bits of apple.
