There is a good book out at the Country bugs book store it sells for just under 50 dollars and it chronicles the time of Vancouver in a pictorial commentary. The City of Vancouver is century and a quarter old and is a dynamic beautiful city in a surreal setting of harbour and snow-capped ski mountains.

The book is by Chuck Davis and is called the Chuck Davis history of Metroplolitain Vancouver

The trek of over one thousand miles arrives at the Pole of inaccessibility  in Antarctica, first time since 1958 and first time without mechanized devices.

Northwest Passage routes.

November 17th at 7 pm will see the Nicola Naturalists have a presentation on some of their members experience with a trip through the Northwest passage last summer.Entitled a top Russia the group led by Alan Burger are obviously including the thought that the worlds largest country shares an interest in the Arctic and the NorthWest Passage.

Alan Burger is a native of South Africa and was a member of the faculty of the Local University of Victoria. they meet monthly usually at the local public Community College NVIT;4155 Belshaw Street, above the Merritt News.
