We have a person here working from Nepal, we much appreciate his perspective coming from a country that has recently become a republic. He spoke recently about world empires and we know how much trouble colonial and empire building have been to humanity in the past. We regard his experience as valid and useful in understanding the drives of people and how sometimes unrealistic ambition has damaged to the whole.
The gentleman works here for the forests at government and was recently at a toastmaster meeting as a guest. We remember that the international agenda of organizations put in place after the Second War were to” make the world safe for small nations” We Canadians are grateful for our place in the world and our significance that has matured under that mandate and we wish Nepal the same in their self-determining future.
