So, so this Labour Day weekend in Merritt, British Columbia is moderately warm, hot and calm with a coolness of evaporation of water felt on your skin in most places.
To enjoy these moments we took a walk about a half a block down Garcia Street to the Nicola River and we were delighted to see flocks of wood ducks coming down the river and, lo and behold. This fella shows up in a kayak who had been obviously driving ducks down the river, Both him and another both were delighted with The 8-hour 25 km paddle from the dam at Nicola lake to the bridge on Voght Street in Merritt.
Indian summer
Although the Federal government can only call it indigenous summer the term is understood and well into October some years the term is realized in warm to hot daytime and cool evenings and nights. We look forward to its presence in our city at 600 m above sea level in the South Central interior of British Columbia, Canada. We hope that you enjoy similar pleasant weather wherever you may be at this time.

A simple change to the employment standards act would change the obligation and to pay overtime by increasing it 8 hours for those that would continue to work 40 hours per week. This would add more choice and more flexibility in hiring. Increase holding taxes, and make it more of incentive to use mechanisms such as rrsp to bring down taxes and increase savings.
There are other methods of doing it however this is a static solution that can be applied quickly with great effect. This includes hiring workers that are more of an entry level and would be interested in an opportunity for overtime. Without the dynamic of a second job.
Thank goodness it’s Friday. We like to see people get a little bit of a break on a Friday. Going into the Labor Day weekend, we wish you all good luck.
