The Vougt street construction is a month on here are some of the first images from the start-up on May 25th and the first bits of construction. The project is to be completed by October 30th, 2020.

Merritt BC is a small town in the interior of British Columbia, Canada. The elevation is about 600 Meters above sea level. Fast runoff water from the Nicola River caused damage in 2018 especially to the homes on the second avenue in Merritt. The project is expected to lessen that risk.

Up until the 26th viewing of the ice comet Neowise will be optimal. Face the northwest sky at dusk use binoculars to locate. The 24th should see the comet near the moon in the west after sunset.

Genetic desease comes through parents and brings intellectual disability, remebered on July 22. The disease effects one in 4000 males and up to 1 in 8000 Females.

This year is the 20th year of remebering Fragile X since the US Senate voted for it in 2000.

Todays space walk is to finish a series of power station work.s The walk is projected to be 7 hrs from a 11:35 EDT start time.

The record for space walks is 16 for a total of 82, 22 hours held by Anatoly Solsyev.

There is a new comet coming to view in the evenings and morning. Comet C2020F3 was found March 27th. Visibility was strained by its relation to the sun, However viewing will get better right up to the 22nd if the comet survives. Comets are mostly ice and sometimes break up. Look to the northwest horizon at dusk, enhance with binoculars.

BC considering auxiliary police.

The BC government is considering an auxiliary police option.

Following the recent decision by RCMP National Headquarters to terminate its previous Auxiliary Program on April 1, 2020, B.C. is evaluating options for the continued delivery of auxiliary policing services across the province. Options under consideration are consistent with a recent motion made by the UBCM Executive.

The current option available for potential interim implementation is Tier 3, under the new Auxiliary Program, which is different from the previously implemented program due to new training and uniform requirements.

Editors note: Auxiliaries have been used in BC before with various levels of success and training with different level’s of success They are a consideration and should not be used to effect the replacement of regular police.

Some times known as reserve police or special constables they are unarmed and volunteers.
