Its good that it is friday….

Car show the local classic car bunch are having a show Sunday June 28th at central park, ( next to  the ball parks and police station on Voght Street. There is a strong club here for the size of the community including the local building inspector who was involved in the Mission raceway project years ago.

Stop line

A source at the ministry says that there are sensors in the pavement at the street lights on highway 8 Nicola Avenue here in Merritt. The sensors will change the red light to green but you must be behind the painted stop line stopped to activate it, and not past it waiting to turn. He said that some lights have cameras that do the same thing but you can also be out of the field of view for them to work.

Some old street lights are on arbitrary timers as well.

Trans mountain the subsidiary of Kinder Morgan that operates the pipeline from Alberta  to Burnaby has tabled another report in their diligence for permits to twin their line from Edmonton. A source says they will be transmitting some Tar Sand oils through it to  the  southern west coast. Their full report is available at the link below.
