Day 21, 2 PM.

Candidates have until day 21 at two past morning time to register as a candidate.

Take note on who was prepared as this is an election that was called to straighten out parliament 2 years before the regulated day. If many candidates did not get their parties nomination through a contest it is likely that they were not ready. Oppositions are there to oppose and provide an alternative to the ruling party. The official opposition is always in a state of some readiness coming from the fact they have official critics that get budget from parliament to be prepared as an alternative if their critics’ weaken the confidence in the governing party..

Independents

There are some that go through the necessary filing and obtaining of nominators to get a platform for there view point. There is all candidate forums and they get to present to the interested public, along with those with party nominations.

Good luck and good manners waiting your turn to present when ears are open,; to anyone who try’s.

To minimize the risk to political impartiality, the PSC:

  • may make your permission conditional on being on leave without pay before or during the election, and if you are elected in a municipal election, for the duration of your mandate;
  • expects political activities in support of your candidacy to be conducted outside working hours;
  • will render a decision in writing within 30 days of receiving a completed request. A form well completed will minimize delays in the processing of your request.
