The Nicola Valley Community Theater Society has a project for a 5 million dollar Community theater. The project is 3.2 million dollars in the construction phase and is expected to take 1 year to complete.

The Society procured a hundred thousand dollars to do drawings with an architect in October.  The funding came from a program called Rural Dividend.

It has an annual painting fund-raiser again this fall, novice painters can do a painting under coaching on a canvas with supplied paints for a fee. The event was on the last weekend and was hosted at Brambles Bakery and Espresso ETC in Merritt.

The organization is reporting that the city is now receiving donations for the Societies project.
