Work on the marine terminal and route expected to restart as plans develop.

Over the coming months Trans Mountain expects it will receive clearance of all other outstanding regulatory approvals and permits for the remaining construction areas. The timelines for approval of all outstanding regulatory matters could have an impact on Project costs, schedules and final in-service dates; however, if approvals are received as anticipated, the Trans Mountain Expansion Project will be in-service by mid-2022.

The expansion project by its prime contractors have hired 2200 workers, have received the first wave of permits and expect to have a plan to have the expansion in service by 2022.

“I am pleased to announce another significant milestone for the Trans Mountain Expansion Project with the commencement of construction activities and the issuance of the notice to some contractors to begin mobilizing equipment and crews in select areas in August and September 2019. With the first wave of regulatory approvals complete, we are confident that we have a path forward by which the Expansion Project construction can commence,” says Ian Anderson, President and CEO of Trans Mountain Corporation.

The local government bunch at the UBCM is having an emphasis on oil transportation by rail.

Representatives from the federal Fund for Railway Accidents Involving Designated Goods will be attending the 2019 UBCM Convention, and are seeking to provide information about the Fund to communities located near a railway.
Following the 2013 derailment in Lac-Mégantic, the federal government strengthened the liability and compensation regime for rail accidents involving crude oil. This led to the Fund for Railway Accidents Involving Designated Goods being established in 2016, under the Canada Transportation Act. The compensation regime is based on the principle that federally regulated railways carrying crude oil are strictly liable for damages

Carbon planet

All that is planted does not grow. However look at this from TD Bank.

Continuing to grow and enhance green spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Supporting the transition to a low carbon economy – with a CAD $100 billion target in low-carbon lending, financing, asset management and other programs by 2030.

Vibrant Planet

Carbon neutral bank

TD claims carbon neutral since 2010 in its operations. One of its mission statements is to ” develop colleagues and act with resect” Something that seems missing in the present social political climate.

Trying not failure

Even though the trees above failed to take effort always leaves a legacy of knowledge!

Canadian Chartered banks excellent.

The chartered bank system in Canada was in the forefront of the survival of the world banking system in the collapse of many large investment banks at the start of the great recession in the decade after the millennium turning. Lets hope they can be as productive in the carbon conflict.

Good luck.
