Dawg days of summer…

No its not your pet it is the the dog star, Sirius, Canis Majoros, its the star the ancients waited to see come above the horizon so it was safe to plant along the Nile river because that God was watching over them.

That star is more that 2 solar mass’s and 10,000 degrees Celsius on its surface making it the brightest star in the night sky.

Mid August helical rising above the horizon in north America should see it come into view in the eastern sky before sunrise.

August 11th 2021 good conditions.

The star may be visible without scopes on August 11th 2021 at 41.7 north above the horizon.

Hot and enjoyable summer days.

The dog days of summer are hot and enjoyable with overnight lows cooling and giving a pleasant time of temperate and hopeful days. (Crops coming up)!

Cooling for the night.

Soak your pillow cases in cold tap water ring them out and dry some before bedtime. Maybe sheets too. Or put them in the fridge to cool them down before going to bed.

Bucket of cold water to put your feet in if you wake.

Close blinds and curtains during day.

Ensure your fans are pushing air optimally not hot air that has risen to the ceiling down to your living space.

Stay happy don’t get hot under the collar.

Voyager 2

Voyager 2  left the solar system on December 5th 2018, it becomes the second interstellar craft to leave on an observation and contact mission. Voyager 1 preceded it on August 25th 2012 after doing its primary mission of data collection from Jupiter and Saturn. It also collected data on the  Saturn’s moon Titan. The December 5th entry in to the Interstellar medium was reported by NASA on December 10th. the two twin probes  were launched 16 days apart.

Voyager 2 now is slightly more than 11 billion miles (18 billion km) from Earth. Mission operators still can communicate with Voyager 2 as it enters this new phase of its journey, but information – moving at the speed of light – takes about 16.5 hours to travel from the spacecraft to Earth. By comparison, light traveling from the sun takes about eight minutes to reach Earth. Together, the two Voyagers provide a detailed glimpse of how our heliosphere interacts with the constant interstellar wind flowing from beyond.

Moon Base Alpha…

As reflected in NASA’s Exploration Campaign, the next step in human spaceflight is the establishment of U.S. preeminence in cislunar space through the operations and the deployment of a U.S.-led Gateway. Together with the Space Launch System (SLS) and Orion, the Gateway is central to advancing and sustaining human space exploration goals and is the unifying single stepping off point in our architecture for human cislunar operations, lunar surface access and missions to Mars. The Gateway is necessary to achieving the ambitious exploration campaign goals set forth by Space Policy Directive 1. Through partnerships both domestic and international, NASA will bring innovation and new approaches to the advancement of these U.S. human spaceflight goals Source NASA

The Paris club writes off up to a 100 billon dollars of Iraq’s debt.

The people at Nasa have recently reinforced their commitment to space,  the moon, and other planets by a new public relations display. The above statement is from May and you tube video from last week.

The people of earth are enriched by knowledge aquired every day by the fellowship of the discovery of the unknown and we should be grateful for its free and unfettered access. It truly is a shared goal. Good luck to the people of planet earth and may all new knowledge find place in attending the problems of this world.

Cold fusion, solar probe, EV’s

The stars seem to be aligning more for the electric vehicle; at least here in the Nicola Valley. Far from economies of scale there is an obvious up tic in charging station use, meaning that owners are relying more on them for distance travel. The greatest use in our view for the EV is the small capacity 85KM range run about, go to work, and town urban application. Not requiring quick chargers. However there are some interesting things coming down the pike.

The year 2025 is the planned start-up of a cold fusion generation system. And the completion of a recently launched solar probe in its 7 year mission is about that time.

A magnetic field is to contain the fusion sparking temperatures that will see hydrogen turned into helium and Einstein’s pride, energy. All life on earth is carbon based and that means old star particles that came from suns that went through their hydrogen and stated burning helium making carbon. The data from the solar probe will be interesting in its composition and if its statements about cold fusion on earth contained in magnetic fields how it might  will fly.

The hope that cold fusion will work seems more compelling this summer fire season, once again it is a promise of inexhaustible  of cheap power without social cost.
Then my friend the EV may be even more to the point.

DAWG DAYS OF SUMMER…

dog

Hot weather, thunder storms, and drought; happy Egyptian New year. Sometime after the 17th of July depending where you are the star Sirus is on the eastern horizon moving east against the sunrise. The dog days of summer are the result of this dynamic.

Sirius is the brightest star in the sky, if you don’t count the Sun. Under the right conditions, it can even be seen with the naked eye during the day. Sirius is one star in a group of stars that form the constellation Canis Major, meaning “Greater Dog.” It’s no surprise, then, that the nickname of this big, bold star is Dog Star. Learn how to find the Dog Star in the night sky. source Old Farmers Almanac.

Flop eard dog

The Dog days of Summer traditionally end on August 11th according to sources.

The rising of Sirus with the sun on the eastern horizon went along with the flood season of the Nile delta. The term dog days may have come from the star being known as the watch dog of the weather.

International PI day is recognizes the mathematical formula that can be carried out in a constant form to infinity.

Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π. Pi Day is observed on March 14 since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant digits of π. In 2009, the United States House of Representatives supported the designation of Pi Day.

The Ursid meteor shower will be peaking on the 22nd, the annual shower has  had up to a hundred meteors and hour in the past at peak and in will be radiating down from the base of the little dipper,  (look up from Polaris)

The peak is the morning of December 22, but tomorrow morning or Friday morning (December 21 or 23) might yield some meteors as well.

The winter solstice will also be tomorrow at 16;28 UTC, 8:28 PST. The days ( light) will begin to get longer until the spring equinox in March and the summer solstice in June.

You don’t have to find the meteor radiant to view as they will appear in all parts of the sky. To trace the origins of the shower look back to the Algieba Star in Leo. Look for a pattern called the Sickle looks a little like a question mark. Anytime after midnight tonight.

Neutron Star action

Ever thought where the gold in your wedding ring came from in the beginning. It came from a collapsing star or a neutron star expelling its matter out in an ever expanding universe. It as well as your body are star dust. If that thought does not add sanctity to your wedded bliss relax it s normal to be concerned with the day to day of your livelihood, relationships and your space on the block. But for a moment take a breath and consider the forces and magnificence of your being, to be able to contemplate such things is special! The time involved and the energy that connects you is no cheap deal nor is the trust you made with that little band of space dust.

Rise my friends from the low things of failure and take a moment to check your course and see that it is  worthy of you! Since being such a special concoction of star dust gives pause!

The person that you are or may be, one worthy of the wonder of all things! If you are perfect now and no  longer in need of a quantum  leap  to complete you, that’s great. Need more spooky action to bring the right elements into your completion ? Just wait for the next gravitational wave to drive you , it will be along in good time.

Gravitational waves:

Some gravitational waves were first observed this week as distinctly coming from a collision of two specific neutron stars that collided eons ago.

The universe is alive with waves of gravity, spooky action is one of the terms of quantum physics you will have to investigate as to its meaning. KDG

Space-time can be considered to be the fabric of the universe. That means everything that moves, moves through it. In this model, anything with mass distorts the space-time fabric. The larger the mass, the larger the distortion. And since every moving object moves through space-time, it will also follow the distortions caused by objects with big mass. source Earth Sky News.
