St Micheal’s Anglican Church in Merritt, I grew up just down the block from this church.
When the Department of National Defence had a mortar platoon support company here a paster from this church became the CO the only ordained Minister I ever heard of that commanded an infantry unit. The armouries is now used as an elks hall and him Nelson Atkinson must have passed on by now I contact him some years ago in the Kiwanis organization. and in my second term in the Rocky Mountain Rangers in Kamloops he was talked about fondly by soldiers as a chaplain.
Thats getting to be a while ago and the world has moved on . Any way thanks to you Canon Atkinson for your generation and what you left behind.PP
