Happy Monday, refugees story…

They say history repeats its self and part of Canadas history is the fact that a great many Ukrainian people came to Canada over time to escape unattractive lifes in Europe and Asia. Sadly Ukraine was providing a good life at home the last few years but suddenly reversals have once again changed the lure of a life in their homeland.

Here is a report of what may have been the dynamic that brought so many Ukrainians to Canada over its history.

CBC story, one life in Canada and its challenge.

Good luck, and stay balanced!

RIP- Gordon Pinsent…

Passed from this life in his 92nd year iconic Canadian actor Gordan Pinsent. His life in the light began as many did, in live theater, the Stratford brats(best sense, someone with some personality EH) in the Ontario proper.

‘Gordon passionately loved this country and its people, purpose, and culture to his last breath,’ family says

Cultural industry

The cultural industry including the CBC will miss him. His following and legacy to the pleasant Canadian is still worth pursuing. Culture has always been vulnerable to free trade, corporate interests and plain economics. The drive to enjoy our bounty in a world of scarcity and plain old bad manners has lost a friend.

Freeze thaw dynamic

When ever there are freeze thaw conditions there is an increased risk of falling rock or avalanche. When driving in BC and in particular on secondary roads use extra caution under these conditions.

Record forecasts for avalanche this season, a real concern.

CBC “last blast of winter”

The CBC is saying this is the last blast of winter and don’t be thinking of Daffodils, as yet.

Stay safe

Be here or be square.

Twenty-five more cosmic orbits to go…

The life of our planet remains limited for the ever after, however there is good reason to belief that the relevancy of having generations plan for a future here is good practice. So plan to be here and at the same time enjoy the show of the expansion of knowledge including Space and maintaining this wonderful earth as a somewhat permanent home, fingers crossed. Full of friends and new faces to completely enjoy.

We’ll meet again, music 👀

Emergency act application, February 14th 2022…

Meets threshold for application.

Fringe designation may have been unfair, context important. PM

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he regrets referring to Freedom Convoy protesters as a “fringe minority” and admits his government could have done more to avoid having to invoke the Emergencies Act to end the protest. Before the convoy arrived in Ottawa, Trudeau labeled the group as a fringe and said they held “unacceptable views.” “I wish I had phrased that differently,” Trudeau told reporters during a press conference Friday. Emergency act not Marshal Law

The 1998 law replaced the War measures act.

Opinion

The War measures act with its bitter taste earned in the crisis with separatists decades ago is is not the same. The new law had lots of benches to accomplish to maintain that status. The lack of death or insurrection may demonstrated its value over what is usually considered archaic powers marshal law powers that regimes have used to hide information or keep power.

Aggrieved people inflamed by word choice a lesson.

The reasonable standard of order breaking down was met. Review Judge.

Deserves serious scrutiny.

The Emergency act is managed by a committee of Parliament, it expires in 30 days if not revoked or extended.
