Again this year the local School District is having a contest for students to add value to a piece of lumber.
Sponsored in part by The national forest week committee, Ardew wood products ,Home Hardware Building center and Community futures development.
Items will be judged for acknowledgement of creativity, ingenuity, and uniqueness.

There was a young women named Cloe on Monday that had a cargo tie down stretched between to trees over a green lawn about 3 feet of the ground.When asked what she was doing she said slack lining. The tension on the 2 inch wide strap was synched tight however the line gave some causing a definite need to balance from the mid section and use muscles to not normally used in walking to maintain a balance to walk the strap.
Cloe said she used it to keep up her muscle tone. Cloe is a world traveler .

The electors of British Columbia are seemingly dispassionate with the campaign that ends when the polls close tonight at 8:PM. The voters we talked to do not vote on personality ( other than honesty) but have a dispassionate outlook to vote for the best interest of the management of their province.
Editors note: this dispassion combined with the supremacy of parliament lends to an ability to form a government based on the confidence of the house ( legislature) by a majority of individually selected MLAs from the 85 ridings.

A 2 year apprentice being supervised by Chip Hub the owner of the electrical contacting company said he believes there is an app for your smart phone available to find charging stations.
The City Hall here is on Voght street of Mammet avenue close to where highway 5A and highway 8 meet on Nicola Avenue in Merritt.
If they are available to the public not doing business with the City during business hours may be an issue.

The City of Merritt went into watering restrictions on May the first. There is no watering by sprinkler on Sundays, and even number houses may water on Monday, Wednesday , and Friday. Odd-numbered houses are on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Times are 6 am to 8 am in the morning and 7 to 10 in the evenings.
There is no restrictions on watering by sprinkler cans or directed hose; including washing cars.

The chartered accounting firm that has been a mainstay of local business here in Merritt has a new owner, but same location. The 1900 block Quilchena avenue, upstairs office was for decades, Best ,Reimer and Maclean. It was sold to Alistair Murdock from Victoria , Murdoch has operated the business for about ten years and gained the confidence of the community, he is a two term and sitting city councillor. Murdoch has sold the firm to Carrie Ware and company. Carrie said the Alistair is going into semi retirement , and has bought a company in Kamloops, a community of about 80,000 an hours drive from here.
No word on whether Murdoch will serve out his term on council.
