The music in the park completed its schedule last Thursday with Amanda Lamothe and her Indigenous story telling show. Next summer we are hopeful for better conditions.

The Merritt music in the park program is complete after this evening’s show by Amanda, September 30th of this month a new public holiday, Indigenous reconciliation day will take place. Amanda’s show tonight may be useful for appreciation of that culture.

The City of Merritt is hosting music in the park at this time The place is central park ( Rotary park) Thursdays at 6PM. Reservations for your place to sit with your own collapsible chairs may be needed. Call 250- 378 1050 FMI.

Public and free the recreational department presents music in the park (Central Park tonight). The Doug James Band is on tonight starting at 6:30 and running to 8:30. Look for the Rotary Band Shell.

Music in the City

Art Pruce entertained in spirit square here last evening. The music sponsored by 16 local business and organizations goes from 6PM to 8PM Thursdays during the summer. Some at the square some at the band shell in Rotary park. Admission is free.

Art produced an album in 2005 and committed last evening to start another next fall. He has had a number of nominations by peers for music excellence. Comments on last nights performance were in the mellow , mood range part of his repertoire include the Beetles.

He didn’t look that old and he makes his home in Kamloops, and originally from Ontario Canada.
