The Trans Mountain expansion is on going and with challenges. The company had a large increase in positive covid-19 testing in July 2021, when the count went from 20 to 203. The company had a plan for dealing with covid-19 which they executed with shut down and measures that got them back to normal work.
What will more competition do to fuel availability.
The access to an ocean port will increase and give western Canadian oil producers more autonomy to sell product about. Competition is a selling point for US marketers and can be real or puffed. Oversite will be necessary to mitigate the new autonomy to many interests, including carbon emissions dynamics and demands, economic, strategic, closed markets, regulators clash’s and what is left of the free market as it relates to this substance.
This as it effects Trans Mountain as a pipeline operator by contract, is more then esthetics. While Trans Mountains effects will be limited to the efficiency of transport shaped by demand, this may be negligible as the mentioned before interests are appetites still in the hands of governments and corporations and thankfully consumers . The expansion project that will see a twin pipe set up between Edmonton Alberta and Burnaby BC has hired 2,200 people since September 30th.
As of September 30, Trans Mountain and our contractors have hired more than 2,200 people for the Project, with a focus on Indigenous, local and regional workers. This includes heavy equipment operators, trades people, environment and safety roles, engineers and construction managers.

A Petro-Canada Station on Voght street was doing the final connections to its two EV car chargers on Thursday. The Live by the Leaf project is connecting an EV charging line across Canada for quick chargers.

The entry of a major player line Petro Canada may be more then a carbon offset and cause some growth in EV usage.
The expansion project is following up on its notification to its contractors to gear up for the expansion that it issued in August. Fully expecting to get approvals on remaining permits and authorities they expect to be hiring about 4200 people in a phased project timeline.
Trans Mountain remains committed to prioritizing and maximizing Indigenous, local and regional hiring to the greatest extent possible. Hiring by prime contractors is underway, with approximately 4,200 workers expected to be employed in various communities along the corridor in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Petro Canada has installed quick chargers a the local outlet of Belshaw avenue in Merritt and is committed to a national highway of chargers,
No pipeline through the Great Bear Rainforest, a definitive decision. Success to many.
The Burnaby from Edmonton approved expansion will see one medium tanker a day every day. One tanker a day should be safer then the possibility of collision. Some diligent people will need to secure the confidence of Vancouver people.
One hundred and fifty seven conditions came out of consultations on the approval of Trans Mountain’s expansion and some conditions by the province need to be met.
The Government is probably interested in carbon schemes .(to help pay for the fiduciary duty to people)

When permits are let there must be a reasonable expectation of completion for the risk taken. Permits were let and a 63 year operation with a proven track record and a good community record is not valued enough.We lose something in this.

The first Welland Canal opens for a trial after 5 years of construction.
Trans Mountain pipeline the operator for Kinder Morgan and its pipeline from Edmonton to Burnaby BC has a proposal for a twinning of the line. the line will bring tar snads crude to an ocean port facility.They operate existing lines in Provincal parks, and this fall intend to submit an application for a temporary relaxation of Park ruiles while construction occurs.
Trans Mountain Pipeline has submitted a draft Stage 2 Boundary Adjustment Detailed Proposal to the Province of BC for review. If approved, the Boundary Adjustment would result in the removal of land required for the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion right-of-way (RoW) from the provincial park or protected area for the period of construction and until restoration is complete. If the lands required for the Project are removed from the Finn Creek, North Thompson River and Bridal Veil Provincial Parks, the Ministry of Environment may seek government approval to establish those lands as a protected area under the Environment and Land Use Act to allow the Minister of Environment to continue to manage those areas.
Following completion of Project construction, the lands removed from the parks through the boundary adjustment may be returned to park or protected area status with operations authorized under a park use permit.
Four BC parks and protected areas are addressed in Trans Mountain’s Boundary Adjustment Application. BC Parks will review the application and make a decision about each location separately. Public comments are an important consideration for BC Parks in considering any boundary amendment proposal. Detailed information and maps for each location are available below.
Trans Mountain Pipeline intends to submit an application in the fall of 2014 for a resources use permit (RUP) to authorize the construction of the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion through Coquihalla Summit Recreation Area. The RUP application will include a similar degree of assessment as the four parks and protected areas.
If approved, implementation of the temporary boundary adjustment and RUP will be subject to the National Energy Board’s approval of the Trans Mountain Expansion Project.
The existing Trans Mountain pipeline traverses an additional three provincial parks that are NOT impacted by the proposed Trans Mountain Expansion Project. These parks are Coldwater River Provincial Park, Coquihalla River Provincial Park and Rearguard Falls Provincial Park.
The RUP application has a local effect on users of the Coquihalla highway, and visitor s to Merritt BC Canada, open comments are closed with BC parks , comments to your local MLA are always relevant at any time.

Doreen Collins spoke to the Nicola Naturalists Thursday the 16th and outlined the need to get the province back on board for the National park proposal,” the MLA is blocking support do to a hunters lobby”. The SOS brochure outlines a phasing out of hunting, ATVs and industrial activities such as minerals and oil.
