Ultraviolet water purification

Merritt BC upgraded its water process some yeas ago to one that uses ultraviolet light to kill germs. The well water in Merritt has always been well spoken of.

Look for answers to water in nature is the theme for the UN based World Water Day.

World Water Day is celebrated around the world with a variety of events. These can be educational, theatrical, musical or lobbying in nature. The day can also include campaigns to raise money for water projects.

The day has been observed with themes since 1993.

The Province of BC is seeking input on Cyanobacterial Toxins in Water.

  View points on assessing  for a protocol on managing cyanobacterial toxins in B.C. drinking water and recreational water. This protocol is intended to provide strategies and resources to assist local governments, health authorities, and water system operators to assess and manage risks related to cyanobacterial bloom formations. Feedback can be sent to the ministry of health, health protection branch by April 23rd 2018.

 

The development of harmful cyanobacterial blooms in eutrophic lakes, reservoirs and ponds has become a global water quality issue. The posters are up at the public library for the Nicola Valley Film Societies special presentation of “Water” for Canada 150.
Canada on Screen is a number of different films for the anniversary of confederation.
The screening is free on Wednesday April 19, 2017 at the local community college lecture theater. No food or beverage in the theater. Start time is 7 oclock, fist come first serve.
