Nicola River off Voght Street, Merritt BC

So, so this Labour Day weekend in Merritt, British Columbia is moderately warm, hot and calm with a coolness of evaporation of water felt on your skin in most places.

To enjoy these moments we took a walk about a half a block down Garcia Street to the Nicola River and we were delighted to see flocks of wood  ducks coming down the river and, lo and behold. This fella shows up in a kayak who had been obviously driving ducks down the river, Both him and another both were delighted with The 8-hour 25 km paddle from the dam at Nicola lake to the bridge on Voght Street in Merritt.

Indian summer

Although the Federal government can only call it indigenous  summer the term is understood and well into October some years the term is realized in warm to hot daytime and cool evenings and nights. We look forward to its presence in our city at 600 m above sea level in the South Central interior of British Columbia, Canada. We hope that you enjoy similar pleasant weather wherever you may be at this time.

Rodeo parade Batman

The. 64th Merritt or Nicola Valley roadie association pro rodeo parade on Friday the 30th of August. Saw that the Batman in the parade had to borrow the Grinch’s car.Soirces say , that the Grinch was injured and couldn’t make the parade. Batman took his place + they are anticipating that the Grinch will be well for the November Black Friday parade.

This misadventure is a good sign as these caricatures are on the bean when it comes to making these events. KDG

When dealing with wasps and safety concerns, it is important to approach the situation with caution. Here are some remedies to help keep yourself and others safe:

  1. Identify and Remove Nests: Locate and identify any wasp nests in and around your property. Contact a professional if the nests are in hard-to-reach areas or if you’re unsure about handling them yourself.
  2. Keep Food and Drinks Covered: When outdoors, especially during picnics or gatherings, ensure that food and drinks are covered to prevent wasps from being attracted to them.
  3. Wear Protective Clothing: If you need to be in an area where wasps are present, consider wearing protective clothing such as long sleeves, pants, and closed-toe shoes.
  4. Avoid Agitating Wasps: Try to remain calm and avoid swatting at wasps as this can agitate them. Slow and deliberate movements can help prevent stings.
  5. Use Caution Around Nests: Be vigilant around areas with known wasp activity and keep children and pets away from these areas.

Remember, if you have concerns about a wasp infestation or encounter aggressive behavior from the insects, it’s best to seek assistance from a professional pest control service.

Happy Canada Day 2024, RULE OF LAW, citizenship, security of person, personal freedoms… Have a great day.

One persons sacrifice pays off:

There are various factors to consider when deciding between renting and owning a home. Both options have their advantages and drawbacks. Renting provides flexibility and requires less responsibility for maintenance, while owning allows for equity build-up and the freedom to customize the property. It’s crucial to evaluate your financial situation, long-term goals, and personal preferences before making a decision. Additionally, seeking advice from a financial advisor or real estate professional can provide valuable insights based on your specific circumstances.

Tax sheltered investment

No capital gains tax on primary residence. You may need to show reasons to move up or down in primary residence but in all the years we have watched no one we know has complained about not being able to sell with out capital gains on the principal residence. So this is a good way to help deal with inflation.

In Canada, the sale of your primary residence is generally exempt from capital gains tax. This exemption can be a significant benefit for homeowners, as it allows individuals to reap the financial rewards of property appreciation without incurring additional taxes. However, in order to qualify for this exemption, certain criteria must be met, such as using the property as your principal residence for the entire period of ownership. It’s important to consult with a tax professional or real estate advisor to ensure compliance with the specific regulations and to fully understand the implications of the tax laws related to primary residences in Canada.
