The festival is taking place about town in different locations and is an example of creativity and communication. The photography venue at Brambles bakery shows a number of works by students, and teacher Brian Cargnelli says that they don’t push narrative or composition rather youth take pictures that they like.
The final venue is open mic night at the Kekuli Café 7PM on May 10th.
The Red cross has a history of service including disaster relief. The organization is also a delivery conduit as governments rely on its ability. Most recent is the flooding in eastern Canada. The Federal government has funded them in recent weeks in the order of 2 and a half million dollars to deliver services to those effected by flooding.

Gratuities for workers to be under employment standards…
The BC Government has made a commitment to strengthen worker’s rights in respect to the tips you give your server after a meal out. Tips have not been on the check in BC like other place like France, However electronic billing has come to be a big part of the collection and sharing of tips. Sharing tips with the cooking staff and the house is a current practice now in some places. The Government is working on this along with four other issues. better protect children and youth from dangerous work; make it easier for workers to get help when they feel their rights have been violated; provide more job protection to people dealing with difficult personal circumstances; and ensure people are paid the wages they are owed — and that those that violate the law do not have an unfair economic advantage…

Old buildings can be a source of contamination and can become a difficulty when disturbed. Hydro poles can be preserved with toxic chemicals. At this writing a pole is being replaced by Hydro in front of the Desert Inn on Voght street. A worker said he takes material to a environment lab in Kamloops for assessment. Other sources may be old gasoline stations, tanneries, industrial sites, mines etc.
Our electrical system depends on wood utility poles. We want them to be strong and stable to keep you safe and to reduce the number of outages caused by pole failures. We regularly inspect the wood poles used in both the transmission and distribution of electricity throughout B.C. Our inspectors look for signs of damage from insects and birds, and for evidence of rot. When necessary, we use pesticides and wood preservatives to treat poles. Untreated poles can last for about 30 years. A pole treated with wood preservatives can last up to 70 years.

On the mornings of April 24, 25 and 26, 2019, watch the moon as it travels away from the king planet Jupiter and toward the ringed planet Saturn. Although Saturn is easily visible to the eye alone, you need a telescope to view its majestic rings.
