Seed pod

Accept the seed fall to the ground and die it abides alone.

You can use that as a metaphor for thoughts or projects or anything. But the reality is biology is out there and it wants to get its way. Look what it did with you.

First full day of Spring 2024

Snow on the go

Spring 2024 in the northern hemisphere is expected to start on March 20th. It is a season characterized by blooming flowers, warmer temperatures, and longer daylight hours. People often associate this time of the year with renewal and growth in nature. It’s a great time to enjoy outdoor activities and witness the Earth coming back to life after the winter months.

Venial equinox on the 19th…

The Venial equinox was on the 19th, however we had an extra day in February, the 29th day happens every 4 years.Today the 20th is the first full day of Spring. At equinox the sun is right over the equator then begins its 23 degree trip into our Northern hemisphere.

The correct term is “Vernal Equinox.” The Vernal Equinox, also known as the spring equinox, marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. It occurs around March 20th and is characterized by nearly equal amounts of daylight and darkness. This event signifies the transition from winter to spring, and is often associated with renewal and growth in nature.

There are 15 days to the spring equinox or first day of spring. However it may not be a meteorological spring. Weather can persist because of many inputs including human activity. The traditional accepted day is the 21st however with better technology this year it is more precisely measured and is really on the 20th , in 14 days. There will be equal daylight and dark in the northern hemisphere on that day. Wednesday March 20th at 2:58 PDT will start the march to the summer equinox, here in Merritt BC.

Time change different event…

Don’t confuse the time change with spring! March 10th ( this coming weekend ) the time will spring ahead to daylight time at 3 am in the morning.

Astronomically speaking, the first day of spring is marked by the spring equinox, which falls on March 19, 20, or 21 every year. The equinox happens at the same moment worldwide, though our clock times reflect a different time zone. And, as mentioned above, this date only signals spring’s beginning in the Northern Hemisphere; it announces fall’s arrival in the Southern Hemisphere.
