August art show…

A second of time.

A song of regret and redemption!

Long ago in my crass, I sensed challenge to my zone.
Yes some one's area was not my own.
Territory for me was a right of way.
Move over or face the sway.

Cheap and bland was my stand.
Your share of mind is more then land.
Its a dumb argument I can work.
To cause delay and stoop to lurk.

Make you prove because it is yours.
Give row to me, my due of you.
Just because I can; see my retort!
You want to share, and get support,

Challenge is what came around.
A loss of energy to confound
Could have been spent in sweet love.
A magnet of charm, a white glove.

To soon old to late wise, give it back my reprise.
No not accounts, but radiant life; a moment back.
Only you can deliver me from this shame.
My ego, I promise; will I tame.

Just because you have it to give, make it so.
No cost to either, to keep this inner flow.
Eternal joy between you and me, no hurt.
It's what I missed, in a second of time; with my blurt!

All my love to redeem. KDG

BC Greyhound service ended…

Except for Vancouver to Seattle Greyhound service in the west is ended.

Service from the iconic Greyhounds are a thing of the past in BC today. The routes however have a number of private servers taking them up and for those that are not the province is intervening:

BC Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Claire Trevena, indicated that the Province is continuing to work with communities and private operators to find new carriers for the remaining 17% of the routes left without service. BC’s independent tribunal, the Passenger Transportation Board, has been actively soliciting applications for new service providers to fill the gap left by Greyhound. In addition to the expected new private service providers, the Province announced earlier this summer, BC Bus North, a publicly funded, base level, interim service to cover the majority of northern BC routes previously covered by Greyhound.

Service between Vancouver and Victoria has been offered by  Wilsons Transportation service Bus tickets between some select sailings can be had through BC Ferries.

The Sunshine Coast, Powel River and Bowen Island are all bus serviced by namesake transit. Blue Bus can take you from West Vancouver to Horseshoe Bay.

The province estimates that 83 percent of routes will be taken up by private carriers.

Special resolution SR 2 endorsed…

Greyhound service eliminated:

Resolution SR 2 was endorsed by the UBCM constituents at the annual convention this month. The UBCM has no law making ability other then their own local bylaws however the endorsement goes a long way to giving the  province the ability to act. The Union of British Columbia Municipalities is a forum to meet and hear as well as decide on the validity of proposals. All municipalities are under the province by law. If a municipality is making bylaws it is desirable and the practice for them to conform and not be in conflict with provincial laws.

The Greyhound Service remains a provincial concern. The Greyhound service is the initiator of the service withdrawal starting November for profitability issues. What will take its place, if anything it remains not completely answered…
