Annual convention

Excellence nominations will be accepted until May 19th 2023, the awards will be presented at the annual convention of the UBCM. The 2023 convention will be on September 18-22 2023.

The UBCM Recognizing members achievements

The Union of British Columbia Municipalities are inviting applications to affirm members work in four categories of excellence.

  • Excellence in governance
  • Excellence in service delivery
  • Excellence in sustainability
  • Excellence in asset management

The UBCM is tasked with being a forum for municipalities as they work to serve the people of British Columbia. The Union has lobbying ability with upper levels of government, Media, etc. Recognition and democratic decision-making in resolutions are part and parcel of the work they do.

Citizens can use their local elected officials to voice on their behalf. KDG

February Sky, missed the green comet?…

The green comet peaked on February 7th, however, After the tenth, according to sources, the Moon will not be so bright and the green comet ( chemical composition make’s green by Ultra Violet light on carbon) may be seen better as it exits for 50,000 more years.

Happy star gazing…

However, if you missed it, don’t unnecessarily worry: this week might be the best time to see it after all. Around the the10th of February the Moon will be less bright and the comet might actually be clearer, as it passes Mars.

The February Night sky is interesting, It includes a comet, that has not been seen in fifty millenniums.

Happy February Monday,looking back.

February 2022, local beef producers demonstrate presence.

Last year a stiring and a resolved presence was demonstrated by local beef producers in the Nicola
Valley, some 14 months after losing land, cattle and infastructure to the destructive flood power of an atmosphereic stream and its affect on the Coldwater river to the Fraser Valley.

The presence demonstrated a reslove to go on and to ask for help in the losses from government. Most of the people were family operations and had a serious cultureal aspect to their plight as it effected them and us.

Beyond fruit.

The Nicola Vallley community arts council has started its Febeuary Community show titled Beyond Fruit. The show is featuring still life from a number of Artists and Perspectives, It runs untill mid March at 3051 Nicola in Merritt BC. There is an artist reception on Friday February 17th 4 -7 PM.

I’m you

So, my sense, if self is on the prowl;
Why so tense, it makes little sense.
My great desire is far away, lost in market;
Be myself is not on, but a ghost is in host.

So,a cryptic cry is in the sky, oh my my my;
To go and look may be read as caught.
My shred of dread will perspire, when fed...
Purchase a pet may make sense, no fashion intended.

Na, step back from the fray, lest the sell preys self;
Markets styles will not begile, it lacks one trait.
My resolve that its charm while strong does die.
Is locked in know that nothing is imposable. KDG

The utility wants an update to understanding that the distance that things Ike chocolate and other February necessities can carry a large energy footprint if it comes a long way. Plan now 😉 to check out if a local artisan has a selection of February niceties and can deliver them at a carbon delivery that won”t built on warming phobia.

Look for local flowers 🌺

Local flowers may be available, as well as local chocolate. Mailing paper cards may be the lower choice because there is 140 grams of carbon (Hydro) involved in a paper cards. Multiple that by millions and you get a carbon problem that may be unnecessary and tear at the romance of presence. (Author).

Taylor Swift performer of the decade

This gal has got it.

Taylor Swift the thirty three year old, “geriatic pop star'”. The entertainer just keeps the show going. The drive is good to see, however what’s really encouraging is how her conversation reveals an adjusted, smart, wise person. Butter would not melting her mouth and her charm lands gently with potent strength to impress.

Good luck and happy decade to come.
