The hills around Kamloops are noted for sage and semi desert, giving a diverse and wonderful eco system with a reasonable water shed and access to flora and Fauna. The amenities are grand and the sense of wellbeing balanced and set in a safe distance from harsher metros. However they are not Isolated from the arts and comment of societies they have the Sagebrush live theater.

The criteria for 6 more weeks of winter is the ground hog seeing his shadow and going back to den. this common culture has been a rite of February for many years. The ritual comes from the Dutch community of Pennsylvania and has evolved to a fun activity for many people to have a get together.
As defined in the 2022 word of the year by Oxford university language, it is a self indulgent attitude producing a number of self centered attitudes including laziness, slovenly as well as greed with a tension against social norms.

In February 2022 the term went viral and the reason was resistance to coming out of Covid restrictions.

Class Acts are on at the NVCAC gallery until the end of January. The show is at the Arts Center (gallery) on the corner of Voght and Nicola Avenue in Merritt BC. The society has put on shows in recent times and this show remembers them in displays. The displays are a range of ages and likes but have in common the venue of the gallery and society.
