Two contractors were fired by the expansion project.
Voluntary shut down shut down to January 4rth 2021.
“Our top priorities remain the safety of our workers and maintaining a safe work environment as we continue to work towards the successful completion of this critical Canadian Project. Over the past two months, we have seen safety incidents at our worksites that are unacceptable to Trans Mountain. This is inconsistent with Trans Mountain’s proud safety culture,” says Ian Anderson, President and CEO of Trans Mountain.
“Trans Mountain is proactively taking the step to temporarily stand down construction on the Expansion Project to review, reset and refocus our efforts, and those of our contractors and their workers. We are committed to a strong culture of safety above all else and insist that our Project contractors and subcontractors are equally committed. The critical success of any organization is its ability to self-reflect – to honestly and courageously ask the question, ‘where can we improve?’. This is non-negotiable, we must improve the safety culture and performance on our Project.”
A safety stand down will provide an opportunity for Trans Mountain to engage with its contractors, their staff and Trans Mountain’s employees. Trans Mountain remains diligently focused on the safety of our people and our contractors. We will dedicate this time to ensure all safety management systems are in place, including COVID-19 protocols, to ensure everyone returns to work safely.

Early this month a person allegedly fired shots at the local police station bring the Mounties out to see what was what. The body of a young man was found between the building and a skate park. The mans body was cordoned off over night waiting for out of town investigators.
Some facts are bringing the police here to ask for understanding in the situation that may have caused a young man to make a statement with a weapon and then use it to take his life.
” We see people on the worst day of their life” is the context that the police seem to be asking for broad understanding of their role as well as the situations of others in some trouble.
The Mounties reaffirm their commitment to the general public safety of the community.
Netflix has a good selection of movies you and yours may want to watch together and apart.
You can sync anything on Netflix through the Teleparty (formerly Netflix Party), which you can add as an extension to your Chrome browser so that the show you’re watching stops (for everyone in the party) when paused for a food or bathroom break. There’s also a chat option so that you can comment on the show or discuss during a break, although your own preferred chat option is probably easier and won’t suffer from lag.
Another option is to schedule a Zoom meeting and share your streaming content from your screen (Netflix, Prime Video, HBO, etc.) This provides the luxury of not everyone on the call needing to subscribe to the service you’re screening.
And if you’re more worried about screen quality and prefer to watch it on your big screen TV, you can watch a show or movie at roughly the same time, then share a Zoom call to discuss it after. Ideal for a binge watch of a fun series riddled with plot twists. Or to help decompress when viewing Breaking Bad or Game of Throne

ritish Columbia’s top doctor pleaded with people to buckle down and adhere to COVID-19 restrictions a little longer, Wednesday, as the possibility of a vaccine draws nearer. Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry made the plea as the province reported 834 new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday, along with a dozen new deaths. It marked the ninth straight day the province has seen double-digit coronavirus deaths. The United Kingdom became the first country in the world to approve Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday. Henry said B.C. would be ready to get it to high-risk groups as soon as the shot was cleared in Canada — potentially within weeks. “I’m asking you all to continue and to do a little bit more, to do our part to slow the spread in our communities, in our families, in our loved ones, in our workplace until vaccines are available for all of us,” Henry said.
