The two thousand block of Granite avenue was full of rally cars on Friday night with a start time of 5 PM the cars left for a run just before the start time of the entertainment for the Night Market entertainment began.
The pacific forest rally that these competitors drove had a fall rally here for many years; the event was interrupted by the covid lockdowns and restrictions on travel.

The Guard,the Nicola Valley Film society presents on Monday, January 16th,2012 ,7:30pm. at the NVIT Lecture Theater; The Guard rated 14 a .k comedy on rural police corruption.

About 40 grade twelve students are about the 1900 block of Nicola avenue at this writing holding a finish ribbon for competitors in a school triathlon. he competitors team up in threes and each take an event including a bike from lower Nicola an unincorporated area about 5 miles south on highway 8, and a run from 1900 Nicola , up through Parker behind the bench and around back by the golf course to 1900 block Nicola a distance of about 6 KMS and finally 20 lanes both ways in our olympic indoor pool. The demeanor of the runners is hard and full of effort, as vocal cheering takes place.
Opinion:this is a good sign for those young people involved and boads well for those that seem to take it serious.Kudos to Merritt Secondary School.

The Pacific Forest Rally is through Merritt again September 30th and October 1; this week .Numbers of rally cars will be about and tearing up at least the pit stop area with noise and excitement.
