Phil Smith a retired supervisor at the local Ministry of Forests was chatting about the Enbridge project today. 700 creeks to cross in his estimation makes for an environmentally challenging project if it is ever approved.

Pacific Forest Rally

The Pacific  Forest Rally is happening here this weekend. Rally cars are about and the roads in the back country will full of  activity here. The rally has a pit stop in the center of town  off from the Garcia Street Mall. The organizers are using a paved parking lot as they did last year with the Canadian Tire lot up on the hill. The rally used the unpaved Railyard malls yet undeveloped corner in previous years resulting in a lot of raised dust and rock.

Zombie walk

The local public library is talking about another Zombie walk this year.  The Halloween season brings a dress up appetite to all the excentrics and not so excentric in the world. When asked  if the local Librarian had enough brains left to host another Zombie walk this year she  motioned in the affirmative.

Merit

Have a great weekend.

The provincial government has sent out letters to former PST registrants advising that the new PST is to be implemented on April 13 2013.

They are offering help and a outline registration for business who wish to have a representative help them.

The HST will be gone because of a referendum inititive.

Demonstration

There is a couple of people on Voght Street  with signs against the Smart Meters that Hydro is installing. One a women about 45  is saying her motivation is because of burying a relative with many brain tumors in the head area around the ear , she says that her relation used cell phones with regularity.

In the 10 odd minutes we talked to her there were no honks from passing traffic.

A spent casing for this weapon was found on the walk path on Voght . The casing was in the middle of the path and was in an area where vehicles don”t often pull over. Baring some child playing with it we remind you readers that discharging a fire arm in City limits is illegal and a wounded bear can be more dangerous then a healthy one with a clear path of escape.
