December 14, 16, and 16th, the merit transportation society’s providing a light tour around the town and they will show all the homes and businesses that have been lit up and the tour will cost $5 and that will be donated to the food bank.
On Sunday the 17th and there will be a seniors tour that is distinguished by doorstep pickup.

The launch of the Space X Starship is dreamed a “success” after a breaking away booster exploded and contact was lost.
The flight lasted twice as long as the first one back in April, it’s 4 minutes of test flight was also deemed a success.

There are more than 250 wildfire’s burning in BC going into the second week of October summery weather is persisting. Rain is expected Friday next, in Merritt.

The civic election has its voice tonight at the Merritt Civic center, with 18 council and 4 Mayoralty hopefuls as well.
There are four candidates for three school districts 58 trustees.
Advanced voting starts October 5th-12th, the General election on October 15th, and all poll times are 8-8.
There are two pieces of I D needed to confirm residency. Non-resident voters must have owned property for thirty days. Only one vote per NRV.

Trans Mountain Expansion,, TMX is a pipeline that is a twinning of an existing one that comes from the Edmonton Alberta area and brings Alberta crude west through Burnaby to refineries in the US that process and distribute oil products into the free market. Trans mountain works on a tariff system that it charges producers to transport the crude to destinations. They do not own the oil.
The 60 year oil company that was the Trans Mountain Pipeline was bought the Trudeau Government from US investors to ensure that the national interest of its bringing oil from Alberta was secure against the “oppression of the majority” and other dynamics of the provincial interest of big against small, wealth transfer, strategic supply of the needed chemicals for energy, food , medicines, and the sovereign Canadian ability to mange its own.
Trans mountain pipeline was born in the public interest, moved in and out of public control over its life time and at this time remains steadily in Canadian public control, at least until completion of and the maturity of its role in the supply line. The standards of construction and maintenance may exceed what is generically called an oil pipeline elsewhere in the world, which is good we believe. The discourse of the current federal election has some candidates calling global warming as an emergency situation. We agree that the demands of human population is making for all kinds of emergency situations and they all need attention. The carbon thing is to be addressed by emissions controls after use and requires industry to do it if other needed dynamics are not to be neglected.
Some are calling for the insurance industry to not give insurance to the TMX operations, in an effort to stop the construction. We have not researched who may be providing insurance to the operations. However for those that find comfort in the fact that insurance company’s often partner by under writing projects we would remind you that the Canadian Government self insures its operations as do some large corporations and because the TMX operations are government owned its a mute point to try to undermine its construction by that kind of boycott
The way the expansion and indeed the continuation of life on earth should not violate our peoples sense of place or belonging.. Three generations have come along of people that directly benefited from Trans Mountain operations, sense of place is well established with these, we hope that those that are not at arms length will try to and speak out when needed, to support the good things, that may come to the people in the macro sense.

With this flight, Norway announced plans to do their part to cut into that number and fly all short-haul flights from its airports on electric planes by 2040. While current models of the Alpha Electro G2 aircraft only seat two people, multiple companies around the world are working on plans to develop commercial-ready electric aircrafts. No commercial airplanes are currently in the production stages of development, but the officials believe they will be ready in time to be implemented prior the the self-imposed 2040 deadline.
Norwegian officials believe the goal is possible due to the layout of the country’s airports. Commercial airports are spread across the country but the vast majority connect via short flights on smaller aircrafts, making it a viable step towards the country’s goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

A concept that immediate relief may need 100s of millions of cars off the road may not be that far away for North America. Rotating seasons of use restrictions by imposing mandated even odd day licence plate use may be a proactive measure to curb consumption. Transit is an option, including air transit where it fits. The saying we will overcome this by hard work, and application of good morals , and a little belief may not work on the macro level but in spots it still flies.

Watts per meter value goes way down manufacturing from scratch and if you generate electricity where you are by burning fossil fuels. In any case they are enjoyable to some people and surely don not poison your immediate life space like fuel can. Norway came into 2021 with 49 percent of sales being electric this is somewhat by decree however the coercion is probably because it suits their situation, and the population agrees with it. That sort of thing does not fly as well in our North American culture. Choice still remains supreme.
Tesla is still the driver in some of this, selling 160,000 units in 2019. The projection for the US is 20 percent of sales by 2027 how much of its share tesla will have is likely to decline with most manufactures having a EV product in the sales..
At the end of the 4 quarter in the United States there were 281.4 million cars in operation. They did not punt to EV that quarter as they never have as yet in substantives way.
We recommend purchasing a n EV at this time as they can be very enjoyable safe and effective if you plan your consumption of power.
The same goes for EV planes be an early opted person for a EV plane it should be enjoyable and maybe can replace your car. The first FAA approved EV plane was the Alpha Electro in 2014. It it had nothing to do with the Bob Cummings show in the 50s and 60s and everything to do with reality. What ever that is.
