May has an American Craft Beer week, running from today until Sunday the 23rd craft beer week gives status to the consumer driven choice that free market driven access gives. Not some stoic two of each kind of business, over lorded by mandarins, the laborers go to refreshment is on the scrutiny block .
Choice is good and is better in the hands of more people. Responsibility is good however it sometimes in the hands of two few people. You be the judge this week. Glug Glug…

Trans mountain pipeline company is working on the twinning of their 60 year old line from Alberta to the west coast. The now completed Green energy project above got copy from a platform; is the info correct or sales puffing. Ask the financers? Is there an age of truthiness coming to deal with debt piled up out of Covid-19?
Thirty percent drop in demand May 2020. 100 % demand for line…
The Covid-19 restrictions caused a drop in demand and perhaps will change habits and expectations for consumption.
The size and complexity of the global crude oil market has expanded significantly since the Trans Mountain Pipeline entered service in the 1950s. Canada is the fourth largest oil producing country globally, behind the United States, Russia and Saudi Arabia and approximately equivalent to Iraq in terms of daily oil production. Canada’s oil consumption is comparatively small, so our nation is a net exporter of petroleum products and crude oil. Canada has the third largest proven crude oil reserves globally behind Saudi Arabia and Venezuela as a result of the approximate 170-billion-barrel oilsands. Export of crude oil and refined products has been, and will continue to be, a significant economic impact for Canada.
TM today
In 2019, global crude oil and liquid hydrocarbon production and related demand was nearly 100 million barrels per day. The COVID-19 pandemic decreased global demand for oil roughly 30 per cent by May 2020[1]. Implicit in studies such as the Internal Energy Agency (IEA) on Global Demand see support for an expected recovery in demand, however, the pace of recovery is unclear given the uncertainty associated with the course of the COVID-19 virus[2]. Even in this difficult year of 2020 with reduced global demand resulting from COVID-19 and lower oil prices, the Trans Mountain Pipeline has continued to be full, with demand exceeding the current capacity.

BC government January 14th 2021 news, one third the cost of EV…
The BC government has announced that will be available rebates of up to 1/3 the cost of an EV. and added 2 million dollars to the clean BC specialty use rebate program on August 5th 2020.The program is for business and groups. The program may give a higher platform to the usefulness of electric alternatives.
BC hydro also increased the subsidy on Electric chargers on December 3rd first come first serve.
Novel still
In our subjective view EVs remain Novel to consumers still however their are numbers of reasons that a choice of a quieter vehicle would suit many.
The Trans Mountain bunch have repaired the trail that they maintain near their Burnaby South oil infrastructure. The reality is often people have to live next to industry and we say thanks to those that are in that sacrifice. We appreciate the fact that they are often the alarm when things are out of control and that they have made a trade off ( we hope with empowered choice) .
A long-time stream keeper and neighbour of the Burnaby Terminal expressed appreciation for Trans Mountain’s trail restoration work and riparian habitat enhancements. Regularly used by the local community, the neighbours noticed and appreciated the trail repairs.

Cell phones, hydro power, fuel all need infrastructure and it sometimes comes with a potential cost of enjoyment. However the law maintains the right of quiet enjoyment of private property at the level that owners have when acquiring it. Good luck and thanks to those that can…
A number of combined court cases against the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion prevailed against the enterprises expansion project today in the Federal Court of Appeals. The judgement in part days agreed that there was not proper consultation with all stakeholders. As well as some oversights in routing is alleged.
This opens the possibly of the government going to the Supreme court to assert its right about the work bein in the national interest. We can probably expect some walk on scrutiny of the route in anticipation of more consultation before the next round of court. Or the possibility of the NEB having the concerns addressed and approving the project for the 3rd time. This is most politically sensitive to the next federal election and a decision before the construction season begins in the spring and the principle of good faith gets it of the ballot.
The next election would be the third government to be elected by a majority with a platform for the expansion. That’s a lot of consultation. Maybe MPs don’t speak the same language as stakeholders. PP
PS: With pot coming legal maybe nothing will matter to anyone by the next Federal election.
April 1st is come and gone. If you missed out on the West Jet name change or a local talent here is a file photo of me to stick with you so as not to get caught next year.

Next year will be one hundred and fifty years of confederation of our country. The country was privileged to benefit from the rule of law and process to bring willing participants into the fold.

Since the early 1980s the process to admit or change the structure of Canada has matured and been made very stable. The constitution act once enacted has reflected a sense of closure to the age and deportment of a mature nation, and next year on July 1st there will be an opportunity to appreciate that. To accept that closure and permanence. Perhaps to be thankful that people can rest from nation building into a life that enjoys the peace and security that it affords.

A year and a couple of months will go fast and forethought on how and with who you will acknowledge our good fortune. It came from a lot of work. It will be an opportunity for one of those ” moments in time” that comes rarely to individuals.
Until then, peace, order and good government to you and yours and especially its recent demonstration in Fort McMurray.
